K9 — The small print

terms, privacy, responsible gambling, refunds

Terms of service

These terms govern your use of K9 (the site at k9thedogcatcher.com, its pages, its emails and its data). By using the site, requesting beta access or starting a membership you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Who may use K9

What K9 is

K9 is an information and entertainment service. It publishes research reads on boxing and mixed-martial-arts fights, probability estimates, comparisons against sportsbook prices, and a graded record of its own calls. It does not take bets, hold funds, or place wagers for anyone, and it has no relationship with any sportsbook beyond reading their published prices.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, K9 and NovaShift Automations are not liable for any loss, including betting losses, arising from use of the site or reliance on anything in it. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do and continued use after a change is acceptance of it. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which NovaShift Automations is organised.

Not financial or betting advice

Everything on K9 is for informational and entertainment purposes only. A read, a probability, a "value" label, a stake suggestion in units, a ticket, a Dog Report or an analyst's pick is an opinion produced from public information and a model. It is not advice, not a recommendation to wager, and not a guarantee of any outcome. Any decision to bet, and the amount, is yours alone.

Where the site shows a stake in units or a return per dollar, it is illustrating the arithmetic of a probability estimate against a price. If the estimate is wrong, so is the return. Edges that look large are more often a sign of missing information than of a mispriced market, and the site says so where it can.

What we collect

What we do not do

Who sees it

Your data is stored on our hosting provider (Railway) in a database only the application and the admins can reach. Stripe holds your payment data; Resend handles outbound email. Admins can see your email, plan, sessions and audit entries in order to run the service. Picks you record as an analyst are shown to members by the name you chose.

Your rights

You can see and change your email, password and preferences on your account page. You can ask us to export or delete your account data; we will do so within 30 days, keeping only what we must for billing records, security or the law. Contact details are below.

Retention

Account data is kept while the account exists and for up to 12 months after it closes, unless you ask for earlier deletion. Audit logs are kept for security purposes for 12 months. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Responsible gambling

Betting on fights is entertainment with a cost, not an income. The record page exists so you can see that even a good read misses often. Please:

If gambling is causing you or someone close to you harm, free and confidential help is available:

If you would like us to close your account so you cannot use K9, write to us and we will do it the same day.

Fighter photos are the lead images of the fighters' Wikipedia articles, hosted on Wikimedia Commons under free licences (mostly Creative Commons). Each photo is credited to its author with its licence: hover a photo on a card, or see the credit under it on the fighter's page, which links to the file and its licence. K9 claims no rights in them. If you are pictured or hold the rights to a photo and want it removed, write to us.
